The bond of a mother and child

A child can be severely abused, both physically and sexually.  A child can be neglected to the point that they don’t even know what it’s like to live like a human.  Yet, if you try to take a child from his mother, he will fight you.  He will fight you to get back to his mom.  He will leave a good clean home with food on his plate and a warm bed to sleep in and clean clothes to go to school in just to get back to the home where he was abused and neglected.  I know this may not be the case 100% of the time, but it is a pretty solid rule.  A child that is abused thinks that it is normal.  That is the only life they know.  And the bond between a mother and child is very strong, even when the mother is incapable of showing that child love.

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

  1. A child can be physically abused, sexually abused, and also mentally abused. This abuse will likely negatively affect the child in some way for the rest of his or her life. The good thing is that despite this abuse many of these kids overcome or forgive, and they grow up to be perfectly functional and successful adults in Life. But the scars will be there forever.

It’s really hard to forgive a parent that has done damage to a child no matter what kind. I should know Ivan and I both had to come to grips with our parent. Not until we came in LPC did we understand that the bond is there but you must forgive, but you don’t forget and the scars are deep and they surface at a minutes notice.
If you are strong in mind and heart you do the opposite when raising your kids. We are blessed that we did it right. We have the best men in the world we are very proud of them. 🙂
