Wednesday Quotable

With Senator Barack Obama’s response to “Joe the Plumber” revealing his position on hyper progressive taxes as a means of spreading the wealth, we no longer have to parse words. Obama’s plan is a form of socialism.

Senator Obama said,

“My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

I’ve said all along that I do not dislike Senator Obama. He seems like a decent guy. He’s likable, has a beautiful family, and he has ascended to positions of power in a relatively short time. But his policies are not pro-America, and they are certainly not just or fair. They are punitive to those who want to move from their current place or class to a higher position. They seek to “spread the wealth” and he actually said it out loud. Today’s quotable comes from one of our nation’s greatest presidents and an icon of labor, civil rights, and American patriots. Here is what President Abraham Lincoln would have to say in response to Senator Barack Obama:

“Property is the fruit of labor…property is desirable…is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built.”

  1. great article,
socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried, Sen. Obama wants redistribute wealth, societies need to create wealth to in order to grow Sen. Obama’s plan is based on “Political Economics” a concept that comes from Carls Marx himself. I believe that Socialism’s ultimate goal is Comunism. If government is so good at running things, why don’t they just run everything in the name of the people?

Dems are sensitive about the word Socialism. If we don’t call Sen Obama’s plans Socialism what can we call it? Capitalism? I think not.

  2. Let me be blunt. Senator Obama’s economics is pure Robin Hood – steal from the rich and give to the poor. If you make too much money (over $250,000) then you need to give some of it back to the people that don’t make that much money – including those that don’t pay taxes or don’t even work.

Senator Obama may be the most left-wing extremist that has ever run for President of the United States as a major party candidate.

I plan for the next 4 years to only make $249,999 a year.

The ones who need to “give back” are the thugs, thieves, burglars, drug dealers, prostitutes, pimps and con men who prey upon the weaker with their acts of heartless violence, greed and moral turpitude.

  6. I agree about giving back. Also consider that the left likes to call their redistributionist welfare taxation “giving back”, “contributions”, and “neighborliness” because it is much more palatable when in reality, giving back and neighborliness is a voluntary action from a position of kindness. What Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are proposing is the government taking, not wage earners giving.
